Which place comes to your mind when we say – scuba diving in India??

Andaman islands, Lakshadweep. No doubt these are some of the best locations in the world to go scuba diving.

But what if we told you that there are also good places to go scuba diving here in mainland India which are closer home, easily accessible, easy on the pocket and lots of fun. After all that’s what scuba diving is all about , loads and loads of FUN.

There is more to Goa than just beaches, booze, parties and great sea food – its home to some interesting diving around Grande Island and has ship wrecks to explore !!! Most dive sites in Goa are based around Grande island , a few kilometres off the coast of Goa. Nature of dive sites here are relatively shallow and the presence of rivers in Goa bringing in silt means varying visibility.

Nonetheless, diving is quite interesting here. Best part of diving in Goa – It’s in GOA. Beautiful beaches, beer, great sea food and SCUBA DIVING !!!!!

Murudeshwar, Karnataka


Murudeshwar is a small coastal town in Karnataka famous for its temple and a huge Shiva statue.The town is extremely popular with the locals who come here in huge numbers to blessed by Lord Shiva.What most people do not know is that 19km off the coast of Murudeshwar is an uninhabited island called Netrani or Piegon Island and there are fantastic dive sites around this island.

Netrani was used for target practice by the Navy some years ago, but not any more. During your dives here you can still see an unexploded bomb!!!!! The sites are teeming with aquatic life. The sheer number of species you will witness here on a single dive will amaze you.

Generally calm diving conditions in the sheltered part of the island, good visibility and variety of marine life define diving at Netrani. If you are an Advanced diver,there is a wreck of a fishing boat that you should explore.

Pondicherry is a well known holiday destination with a good mix of history, culture, spirituality and fun. What most people are not aware of is the fact that it has some really good scuba diving opportunities.
Artificial reefs teeming with aquatic life – the sheer number of species you will witness here on a single dive will amaze you, deep diving at the wall, wrecks. Although Pondicherry has something for divers of all experience levels, if deep or technical diving is your calling, then this is where you have to be.

Recently a whale shark was spotted at one of the dive sites here!!!! Yeah , a whale shark!
